Volume 10, Chapter 37: No One Left Out

While there were lights on in the middle of the night on the commercial street, the only shops that were open were bars.

Lanya’s magical equipment store was naturally the exception.

I could see the 24 hour sign in the distance, floating in the air like a sun.

I think that the Royal Capitol will have to issue ‘Night-Time Neon Lighting’ regulations or people who are sensitive to light won’t be able to sleep.

However, walking at night is dangerous for we three ‘maidens’. From when we entered the street to when we reached Lanya’s door, whether it was drunk teenagers, uncles, and groups over ten groups, I turned a blind eye to them all. Because before they could say anything Oyado had knocked them unconscious and left them on the side of the road.

“How dare you try to peep on big sister’s beauty you pack of sex addicts!”

Oyado said as she stunned them.

Cough cough. In any case I was the same as them, so I don’t know how to respond.

Although I had been low-key, with what you are saying, I don’t know what I’m going to do in the future.

But Aliyah didn’t say anything along the way, she kept her head down and was thinking deeply about something.

“What’s wrong?”

I asked Aliyah.

But she didn’t hear. Still in thought.

“Hey, Aliyah, tell me what you are thinking.”

“Eh?”

She jerked when she heard me calling out to her.

“Oh, I was wondering why Lanya had prepared things for Oyado but not me.”

“......”

I’m ashamed of you. You needed to meditate about that sort of thing?

You don’t even know how much money you’ve taken from each vault, what can’t you go and purchase? You actually need someone else to give it to you?

“Well, don’t be bothered. She shouldn’t have anything good anyways.”

Aliyah said, the first one walking into the store.

Wiping off my sweat, I beckoned over to Oyado, who was leaving someone unconscious on the road, to come into the store.

“Welcome!”

Coming in, I saw ‘Lanya’ rush out to greet me.

Naturally the reason I used quotation marks was because it wasn’t the real Lanya, but instead was a 1:1 combat doll......no, high class doll.

And the several dolls wandering around the store gave me a better understanding of Lanya’s bad tastes.

But all of the clerks felt idle, because in Lanya’s shop......she was using a vending machine!

That’s right, a coin vending machine! There’s a funnel on it too, probably to make it easier for people to pour in hundreds of silver or gold coins.

I have to say, there aren’t any banks here. Would you be bold enough to go ahead and create a credit card?

“Yo!”

Suddenly, door on the side opened and Lanya came out.

“You came so quickly. I thought that you would get here later.”

Lanya was wearing a full set of alchemist overalls. That’s right, the type of equipment that looks like it was designed to protect against explosions. I don’t know if it’s because she was in the middle of testing a new type of bomb though.

“It’s because Felicia can’t stay up too late. She has to go home or her sister will be worried.”

Aliyah explained.

“Oh, is that so......”

Lanya squinted and stared at me for a while.

The look she is giving me so creepy. What does she see?

“So it’s like that, you needed to report back?”

Lanya nodded.

“Then I’ll cut out the nonsense. First of all, you are going to the Abyss?”

“Eh? Aren’t you really well informed?”

Oyado marveled.

“Well, Falan told me. You’ve found out where Fir is, didn’t you? That path is pretty dangerous. I was going to give Oyado some new equipment, but since you are all going why don’t you test the new weapons together.”

When she finished, she took out a box and opened it. The sting from the light coming out of it gave me some discomfort.

“Well, these are special weapons light magic weapons designed to be used against the undead. You can choose what you want to use.”

The box was full of weapons, daggers, swords, bows, crossbows. There was basically every type of weapon.

“Business with the Church has been going pretty well thanks to Yerbal’s connections. They’re responsible for providing the light magic crystals and we develop the weapons.”

No wonder. I remember back in the past when Lanya had to rely on the light crystals I produced to develop new products. Now with so many weapons, there definitely aren’t isn’t a small number uses for the crystal.

“Oh, then I won’t waste time then.”

Aliyah was the first, and took her swords. She seemed happy for the gift.

Oyado chose the dagger. The pure white dagger formed a set along with the Dagger of Death she had previously.

“Say, Ms. Felicia, why don’t you pick one? Don’t you want to go to the Abyss as well?”

“Eh?”

I was a bit surprised with what Lanya said to me.

“How did you know I was going?”

“Well, it isn’t an ordinary person that can relate to Oyado. And for that type of person an excursion like this is completely natural.”

Hey! It’s common knowledge that Oyado does’t hang around ordinary people? I feel as if today isn’t the first time I’ve heard this.

“......Well, I won’t waste time then.”

Then I took a quiver of arrows and a few grenades.

“Just these.”

“Oh......as expected.”

Lanya nodded.

“Well, be careful you guys. I’m not going to go with you. The business has been busy and my old muscles can’t keep up with it.

Lanya said.

Oi oi oi, what old muscles? Even if your actual age is terrifying you still look like a loli. Can’t you find a nice way to say it?

“Basically you guys are going to handle the work of bringing back Fir. I have things that I need to test here in case you needed to contact me.”

......

Are we free guinea pigs for your experiments?
